You Changed My Life

A sequel to A Very Special Love

Havent saw the official trailer yet.

A Very Special <3

Title: A Very Special Love
Year: 2008

Genre: Romance
/ Comedy
Director: Cathy Garcia Molina

Starred by: John Lloyd Cruz, Sarah Geronimo
Synopsis by Wikipedia:

Laida is a modern-day Belle. She works hard to provide for her family while believing that someday she will meet her prince charming and they will live happily ever after together. That prince charming is none other than Miggy Montenegro, the youngest of the Montenegro clan—a well established family in the business world. Laida dreams of meeting Miggy every day and every night. These dreams lead her to apply as an Editorial Assistant at Miggy’s newly established men’s magazine Bachelor despite it being a long shot, hoping that working in the company will allow her to be close to the man who invades her dreams every night.

By some sort of luck, Laida lands the job. Overwhelmed by the being in the presence of her crush, and by her instant employment, Laida remains blind to the fact that the Miggy she dreams of is very different from the real one. Miggy in person is a hothead who thinks he’s always right. The word “sorry” doesn’t mean anything to him. Everyone is scared of him, except Laida, who is always ready to defend her dream man. Blindly she caters to his whim, even when he sent her to be his proxy on his date with his girlfriend, breaking her heart a little. Her co-workers question her unrelenting dedication to such a monster but when Laida proves quite loyal to the man, gossip about Laida’s feelings for their boss starts to circulate. Laida, to defend herself, unwittingly reveals information about Miggy’s personal life which earns her his ire. Being shouted at for the first time by the man she dreams of opens Laida’s eyes to reality. And her awakening in turn leads to Miggy’s rude awakening of why people do not like him.

No one has ever talked back to Miggy before. No one dared tell him their opinions and or suggestions. Miggy was always right and that’s how he likes it. But when Laida, a simpleton who just follows his every command tells him to his face that he is wrong, Miggy begins to wonder if the reason for his failures could actually be him. For the first time Miggy apologizes. And this opens the door to a whole new world of a lot of “firsts” for Miggy. With the help of Laida, Miggy slowly learns to be a teamplayer. With the help of Laida, Miggy slowly learns the value of loyalty.

But Miggy’s conflict with his siblings keeps pulling Miggy back to his old ways, and not even Laida’s presence in his life can clear the shadow cast on him by his family. Laida does everything she knows just to help Miggy at the expense of time with her family. As Laida and Miggy’s fight to save the magazine become more intense, so is their fight to keep their intentions and emotions at bay. Will Laida and Miggy ever figure out the right combination to solve their problems in business and in their personal lives? Or will their mismatching personalities, despite their common interest and goal keep them from ever figuring out their perfect pair?

What I think: This is a romance comedy that I will remember. Everybody loves a good love story but topped with comedy, of course it's a hit. This is the 1st time that I saw Sarah Geronimo acting and I must say, I'm impressed. Not only she was able to deliver her character well, she's also one of those who can act and be funny at the same time and not irritating or exaggerating. She's just acting and played 'her'. Very natural of her. For John Lloyd Cruz, if u've been following his character in other Filipino movies, this is the 1st time I saw that character in John, "very special" indeed. Something different n yet refreshing to see him in that character. The storyline is acceptable and not trying too hard to impress but rather trying to go with the flow. I like this one. Of course, the wow factor is still missing and some scenes need to work at but I've find it interesting and worth to watch. My rating: 3.5 out of 5. And yes, I recommend a friend to watch this ;)

Leave u guys with the trailer =)

What I think?
Seriously, I'm not really sure how I felt towards this movie. When I 1st saw the trailer, I was awed and was eager into watching this. But then, I really don't know. The storyline was not that bad, doesnt have the wow-factor and it's not real. But couldnt blame them. Cuz if the ending were the other way round, I'm sure the fans would boo-ed this. The difference between Korean/Japanese and Filipino movie is that Korean/Japanese movie's ending is realistic and Filipino is still the happily-ever-after ending. No, I'm not saying is a bad thing cuz if it were me, personally, I would be devastated if the ending was the other way round or not what the fans wanted, di ba? Nywz, the thing that I love about this movie though is that the actresses, Marian Rivera and Iza Calzado really expresses their feelings up to the point that if it were you being them, it would really hurt. Which means you will understand and felt what they are really feeling. Watching them crying, makes me want to cry too. LOL. Oh well, I guess I do like the storyline cuz usually it wud be a "copy" from other western movie. This one too but in a different way. However, even though I might like this movie personally, if u ask me, I wouldnt recommend people watching it. If you wanted that "O-M-Gawd" kinda thing, nope.. It's not there. Cuz towards the end, you would say "Huh.. Ohhh okay.. Is that it?" So, yeah. But out of curiosity, just go watch it. Haha. I'm rating it 2.5 out of 5.

I don't want you to go..

A Love to Kill

(Source: Wikipedia)

Title: A Love to Kill
Year: 2005
Genre: Romance, Drama
Director: Kyoo-tae-Kim
Synopsis by Wikipedia:

In A Love to Kill, Bi/Rain/Jeong Ji-Hoon plays a tough guy as the role of a K-1 Fighter, Kang Bok-gu. Bok-gu is a character who is dynamic in nature and grew up in a foster home. He falls in love with a woman whom he should not love. It was because of the woman, his emotionally-wounded brother fell off from the rooftop and became a human vegetable. So, his love is forbidden and inevitably tragic.

The woman is Cha Eun-seok (Shin Mina) who is a TV talent and movie actor. It was not that she jilted his brother on purpose, but upon a basis of misunderstanding, his hatred toward Cha Eun-soek grows more and more burning.

By becoming Cha Eun-seok’s private bodyguard, Bok-gu keeps concretely practicing his revenge upon her. He only desires ‘to bring his brother’s woman to her knees.’ He is gradually taking Cha Eun-seok to destruction, while he feels his love toward her growing deeper and deeper in his heart.

Bok-gu is a cold guy character without any special concern for woman. Martial art of hand-to-hand fighting was just kind of his escape he choose from the shock of a spinster’s death whom he loved from a distance.

What I think:

In Korean Dramas, there's always the love triangle scene, melodramatic, the frustrating scene, and the part where there's always a 3rd party that will acts as the bi*** or the a***** and this is no different. However, what's interesting about this one is as u go thru each of the episodes the storyline become even more interesting. Even though, u'll know how the ending goes, u'll want to watch how the couples endure each troubles and faces turbulences along the way. It's of course, definitely a tear jerker that will touches hearts of every women. Duh! Haha. YEaps. This drama starred by Rain, and Shin-Min-a, both whom have delivered and expresses their character well. The part which I hated the most is when the things are actually easy but they make it sooo complicated that they dragged the story even longer, makes u really frustrated not with the story or actor and actress but with the movie as a whole. However, I'm rating it 3 out of 5. I believe that women especially, wouldnt want to miss this one.

Couldnt find the trailer, hope this'll do ;)

Vince claims that he recorded the song for his friend Rabbit who was supposed to give it to his girlfriend (Sabina). Abby persuades Vince to take her to Rabbit in the hope to find Sabina.

As Abby and Vince travel together through the mountain provinces, love tries to find its way through their hearts but will it survive the journey?

What I think:

I think this is one of the best Filipino movies I've ever seen considering it was released in 2005. The storyline is not bad. The actor & actress have a great chemistry as this wasn't their first time working 2gether. Some will say that the story is a bit cliche, but I think in this genre it's a great love story. Of course, every love story has a twist, some frustrating scenes and last but not least, some emo scenes that's definitely a tear jerker. I'm rating it 4 out 5. Would I recommend you to watch this? YESH! The movie was shot in Baguio, Banaue & Sagada. Absolutely beautiful! Bsides that, hey.. it's Piolo Pascual, of course u will want to see it ;) Click HERE for trailer

Japan Boat Takoyaki

Who loves Japanese food?? Well, I know I do. Weeks back, there's this new food stall or rather shop in town that causes a buzz to KK people. Everyday, regardless day or night, people would queue up just to take a bite at it.

Japanese Boat "Takoyaki", quote from Wikipedia:

Takoyaki (たこ焼き or 蛸焼?) (literally fried or baked octopus) is a popular Japanese dumplingbatter, diced or whole baby octopus, tempura scraps (tenkasu), pickled ginger, konnyaku, and green onion, topped with okonomiyaki sauce, green laver (aonori), mayonnaise, and katsuobushi (fish shavings), originating from Osaka. There is a similarly named dish called ikayaki but it is a broiled whole squid and bears no resemblance. Yaki is derived from "yaku" (焼く?) which simply means "to bake or grill" in Japanese, and can be found in the names of other Japanese cuisine items such as teriyaki or sukiyaki.

There u go peeps. Go, take a bite at it. I'll bet u want more. Serve best hot. U can really taste the sauce and all. Nyums! and ohh.. Visit the website here!
